Good morning, sports fans: Penn State could face WVU again, Bears bring successful pairs together

Penn State is looking to add some games with national appeal to its football schedule.

West Virginia wants to renew some regional rivalries.

As both schools also try to beef up their nonconference schedules, their paths could cross again.

Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com said the Mountaineers are working on a potential agreement with Penn State.

With an agreement in place to once again play Pittsburgh, adding West Virginia makes a lot of sense. It would be an easy drive for fans who want to attend the game and it would certainly add some beef to the nonconference schedule.

Bears in the news: Hershey did some reuniting on Friday.

Ryan Mougenel played for Bears head coach Mike Haviland on the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in 2002-03. Now he will be his assistant coach in Hershey.

Jamie Johnson and Jeff Taffe combined for more than 120 points when they played on the same line with Rochester in 2009-10. After re-signing Taffe in June, the Bears inked centerman Johnson to an AHL deal after he played for Dynamo Riga in the KHL last season.

Johnson led Rochester in scoring with a career-best 27 goals, and also posted 20-goal seasons with Albany (2007-08) and Grand Rapids (2011-12).
