MARGATE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities are searching for clues about a human skull found near the ninth hole of a South Florida golf course.
Margate Police say divers doing maintenance on an irrigation line Monday found the skull in a clay pot in a canal at the Oriole Executive Golf Course.
Police say the pot was found in water between 10 and 15 feet deep.
The skull has been sent to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police tell The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/14YwUC6) that they have no information about the skull or how it got into the canal. For now, they are treating the case as a homicide.
